Just a quick note to point out something vaguely IDM-ish that I'm pretty sure a few people on this list would appreciate, if they don't already know about it. I recently had the pleasure of catching the film "Decasia" on cable - it's a really cool hour-long movie made up entirely of decaying old film - really interesting, both for the interesting variety of decay effects, and also for the old film itself, which ranges from found ethnic recordings to old, neglected hollywood-ish type stuff with bad acting, etc... But what really caught me was the music, composed by Michael Gordon. It's as if the score itself were decaying as the musicians struggled to play it! Something like that, anyway. It's really cool, definitely worth checking out. I'm just getting into this stuff myself, but I have a feeling I'll be checking out some recordings by Bang On A Can, a group that apparently Michael Gordon is a part of. Anyway, people should check out Decasia - great movie, awesome music! --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
