The One Minute Massacre Volume 1 is finished and there will be a listening party tonight the 5th of January, 2003. Streaming audio of the album in its entirety will be played tonight beginning at 11pm eastern time, 10 central, 9 mountain, and 8 pacific at this site temp.soulseekrecords.com. Please come to the room on slsk "1MM" for more information during the listening party. There we will discuss the album and sit back relax and admire each others work. Great job! It is really amazing work. the label Soulseek Records is an offshoot of Soulseek, a file-sharing application dedicated predominantly to the free trade of electronic music and the promotion of unsigned artists. Listeners can use Soulseek to learn about and sample new musicians they would be unlikely to encounter elsewhere, and artists can utilize the wide user base as an efficient means of distributing their work, getting feedback, and gaining fans. Based upon this community theory, Soulseek Records is a democratic label, with all decisions made by a dedicated group of users who confer via message board, rather than by an committee of businessmen or a CEO. Note I am just a fan I have no part in running this. This is a *PART* from the soulseek records artist agreement. Basically it say's nobody is being paid for anything and it is all volunteer work. Though a possible change will be made in a year if there is enough cash to pay people for their work. Rest of below message is here http://www.remmelt.com/slskboard/index.php?s=42a3c3c425191d45b4fc3ea0ef7 0fe93&act=ST&f=9&t=1970&st=0 C. None of the artists, or Soulseek Records members will recieve ANY money whatsoever for the term of 1 Year starting on October 10th, 2002. On October 10th 2003, this issue will be discussed again, and an addendum to this contract will be posted. D. The Soulseek Artists that are participating in each respective release agree that Soulseek Records can print, distribute, and press the release in any manner possible, or not yet invented. E. The Soulseek Records releases may be encoded to mp3 and shared via the internet. F. Soulseek Records releases may not be sold under any circumstance by anyone not affiliated with Soulseek Records without permission. ------ FINANCES A. All profits made from the sale of CDs/Vinyl will be put into a private bank account. B. ONLY expenses for pressing, distributing, and otherwise not-mentioned procedures for getting the music heard will be taken from the account. C. The bank account monthly statements will be posted and avaliable for viewing by all on either this forum, or a future forum/space on www.soulseekrecords.com -----Original Message----- From: StaticBeats [mailto:idm-list@staticbeats.com] Sent: Sunday, January 05, 2003 8:59 PM To: kingfool; idm@hyperreal.org Subject: Re: [idm] Soulseek records release party tonight Sounds interesting.
