[please propogate this post to persons/lists/forums that you think might be interested] 'PRETTY EXPERIENTIAL' COMPILATION Split Release: No Logo Records Double CD and MP3 release on Kikapu Net.Label In response to the fact that the overwhelming majority of so-called 'experimental' electronic music tends to be dark, harsh, and otherwise obtrusive, we came up with the idea of releasing a compilation of "beautiful" electronic music. What constitutes beautiful is of course subject to debate, but we imagine you have a general enough idea to work with. To put it purposively vague, we are thinking broadly along the lines of Boards of Canada, not Kid 606. Genres including but not limited to: ambient, noise, electroacoustic, microsound, glitch, IDM, melodic, hip hop, and dub. Please, no stereotypical dance music: while there is likely a place in the world for house, trance, drum n bass, etcetera, this compilation is not that place. We are currently accepting submissions for this compilation. Any group or artist may submit. Submissions must be original material - no remixes or samples from copyrighted works will be accepted. Deadline for submissions is 15 December 2002 with a tentative release date of 15 January 2002. To submit, please send a link to an mp3 file and a bit of explanation in the text of the email to infoATnologorecordsDOTcom do not email us mp3s! - links only. There are many free or nearly free webhosting sites available. Please, send final versions only - what you submit will be on the comp. Don't mail us saying that you have "lots of good stuff, but . . ." or "this is something for the comp, but it isn't finished yet." No more than 3 submissions per artist, and only one track per artist will be selected for the compilation. If your submission is selected for the compilation, you will be asked to send a CDR with an unmastered version of your submission to us within one week of our request. Artists featured on the compilation will receive several free copies of the release and will gain exposure to an international audience. No money will change hands. Arrangements for international distribution are already underway. (FYI - wwwDOTnologorecordsDOTcom will be online sometime this week - DNS is propogating . . . :) - likewise for the email - not available until later this week . . . . ) brad :: kikapu net.label - http://www.kikapu.com :: --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
