Select Media is proud to present an exploration of international movements
in the digital underground of new media, film and video, experimental
electronic music and tactical media. The Select Media Festival aims to
capture the zeitgeist of works that inform the visual aural and narrative
languages of contemporary media arts scenes highlighting aestheticly
satisfying and socially explosive content. SMF will present curated
programs, special screenings and performances by over one hundred artists.
The four-day diy insurgent media festival features a film and video
festival, installations, a media lounge and showcase of Chicago's advanced
electronic music scenes. The festival will be broadcast over WPBR and online
at Lumpen.com.
SMF includes new work, programs, installations and performances by:
Paper Rad, Douggpound, Ninja Tune, Vanessa Renwick, Lord of the Yum Yum,
Vellow Virkaus, TV Sheriff, B$, Office of Fatherland Defense, Davy Force!,
Warp Records, Negativland, Cornelius, Paul Chan, John Herndon, Heavy
