Piehead Records Newsletter for November, 2002 Scroll down for info on OUR NEWEST RELEASES ::: PREVIOUS RELEASES ::: UPCOMING RELEASES ::: LIVE EVENTS ::: ORDERING/SUBSCRIPTIONS ::: :::::::::::::::: OUR NEWEST RELEASE ::: The final two albums in the Piehead Records 2002 limited edition series were released today and are now available for purchase (ordering details below): PIE010 : Andrew Duke : _Highest Common Denominator_ Andrew Duke is an artist from Halifax, Nova Scotia who has had a busy year with releases on Bip-Hop, Dial, Tsunami Addiction, and Bake/Staalplaat. His newest album is an exclusive collection of six remixes (tracks by Aaliyah, The Blameshifter, Chicks On Speed, Club Telex Noise Ensemble, Mister Nobu and Pink Floyd) and six collaborative tracks (with Building Castles Out Of Matchsticks, Kim Cascone, Dalglish [aka O.S.T., Rook Vallade/Rook Vallard], I8U, Monolake and Polmo Polpo) created throughout the summer and fall of 2002. ::: more info : http://www.pieheadrecords.com/releases/pie010.html ::: Andrew Duke website : http://www.techno.ca/cognition/ PIE011 : V/Vm : untitled Known primarily for their noise-ridden deconstructions of saccharine pop music and other audio atrocities, Manchester's V/Vm (aka James Kirby - for this release, at least) may surprise people with this new untitled album. Rather than blasts of static or pitch-shifted Lionel Ritchie vocals, the disc instead features mainly ambient material that is almost serene, yet still oddly disconcerting. The closest comparison points within the vast V/Vm backcatalogue would be "The Stranger" (released in 1998 on the Phthalo label) and The Caretaker's two albums of ghostly ballroom classics. But even so, they still manage to get in a poke at Sir Elton John. ::: more info : http://www.pieheadrecords.com/releases/pie011.html ::: V/Vm website : http://www.brainwashed.com/vvm/ :::::::::::::::: PREVIOUS RELEASES ::: PIE009 : I Am Robot And Proud: _You Make Me This Happy_ ::: more info : http://www.pieheadrecords.com/releases/pie009.html ::: I Am Robot And Proud website : http://www.bloop.org/robot/ PIE008 : naw : _gibberish_ ::: more info : http://www.pieheadrecords.com/releases/pie008.html ::: naw website : http://www.noisefactoryrecords.com/naw.htm PIE007 : Vague Terrain Recordings : _A Viable Alternative to Actual Sexual Contact_ ::: more info : http://www.pieheadrecords.com/releases/pie007.html ::: ??? : http://www.google.com/search?q=Vague+Terrain+discography PIE006 : Multiplex : _Iroquois_ ::: more info : http://www.pieheadrecords.com/releases/pie006.html ::: Multiplex website : http://www.multiplexmusic.com PIE005 : Your Favourite Horse : _I Would Close My Eyes But All I See Is The Massacre_ ::: more info : http://www.pieheadrecords.com/releases/pie005.html ::: Your Favourite Horse website : http://www.scarcelight.com PIE004 : I8U : _grasshopper morphine_ ::: more info : http://www.pieheadrecords.com/releases/pie004.html ::: I8U website : http://www.I8U.com PIE003 : David Kristian : _My Three Suns_ ::: more info : http://www.pieheadrecords.com/releases/pie003.html ::: David Kristian website : http://www.davidkristian.com PIE002 : hellothisisalex : _the canadian spelling program_ ::: more info : http://www.pieheadrecords.com/releases/pie002.html ::: hellothisisalex website : http://www.hellothisisalex.com PIE001 : ARC/Aidan Baker : _Repercussion_ ::: more info : http://www.pieheadrecords.com/releases/pie001.html ::: ARC website : http://fade.to/arc ::: Aidan Baker website : http://www3.sympatico.ca/mokka :::::::::::::::: UPCOMING RELEASES ::: We are currently finalizing plans for our second limited edition series to be released on a monthly basis throughout 2003.
