t&j New Release: A NAT HEMA : H.E.M.A.N.I.K.E. (t&j
008)
Toast and Jam has a new release:A nat
HEMA:H.E.M.A.N.I.K.E. (t&j 008)
A nat hema was James Boring and The Glorious Moodman,
as a nat hema they were around Portland Oregon's
noise/experimental seen for something like 8
years,they are no longer together.
James Boring set up weekly noise and electronic shows
entitled "aural fixation" and "hypnotica". An a nat
hema show was always an experience: there was always
theatrical performance while the music played, they
had cowboy theme shows, "serious" shows and shows that
poked fun at all the local experimental musicians
individually. At one point I remember The Glorious
Moodman running outside into traffic with a white mask
on holding a scythe above his head, in the middle
ofthe show!
H.E.M.A.N.I.K.E. is their "HARDCORE POWER NOISE"
release as James calls it, it's wonderfully comic,
low-fi pop-noise where they poke fun at Experimental
and Commercial music alike as well as their own
position in the music world, this release evenincludes
a Wire cover!
You can order this release and listen to mp3 samples
at the toast and jam website:

Sadly we've had to raise our prices to $4 postage paid
in the US, we weren't even breaking even, but $4
isstill a great price we think.
