Or any number of 'signature series' guitars hawked in catalogs all over the dad-gum countryside. How much you pay for an 'Alex Paterson Mackie 48-Channel Mixing Desk' or an 'Autechre Signature Series Macintosh Powerbook G4'? 2 or 3 times the going price? We thought so!! i think it was mainly the (dig this) "music" he played with his fingertips and stringfrets that made him famous. his tone was important ,but also the fact that he could play honestly. (anticipated) townshend.s various guitars ,page.s danelectro/doubleneck ,rick nielsen.s fiveneck monster uncledick ,steve vai and that goddamn handleguitar (what the hell kind of look IS that anyway i ask ya). i see that point of course ,but with all of those there was actual music to back it up ,whereas that seems to have been stripped away in favor of trying out parameters and making tracks because you have gear that makes that sound. people like fennesz/pita/vladislav delay seem to take a lot more care with their compositions ,treating their plugins/processing as "instruments" which service the "song" rather than as the "focus". (leave me ,the ghost of davidSPADE!) yucks and japes anywho. .d: --- Aaron Trumm <aaron@nquit.com> wrote:
