greetings fellow "idm" heads- when i dj idm, i tend to make it flow....i beatmatch most of my set- and in between, if i want to change the tempo or mood, i use beatless/ambient tracks to blend....and i don't just dj dsp'd out idm tracks, i mix in downtempo, noise, powernoise, electro, drill and bass, hip hop, some indie shite........urb mag reviewed about 4 of my mixtapes- a bunch of idm/experimental electronic/drill and bass/electro/downtempo/??? madness...and they loved it!!....anyway, whenever i dj at events/shows, people seem to enjoy my sets and commend me afterwards, so i do think that mixing lots of different things is a good idea...the more flavors, the better! if any of you guys are in the bay area, check me out! i've got three gigs lined up for next month.....(san jose, san francisco, and sacramento) -----michael (dj basura, the distracted collective) p.s. dj anon from sf is off the hook too- she dj's idm/breaks/electro.....check her out! www.echolocation.fm

Ach, laddie, Bay Area DJ's can't mix for toffee! London DJ's know where it's at, and just to throw down the gauntlet, we're throwing a party next week called 'Not Clickable in Warrington' Playing live, special guest from Uncharted Audio records is LJ Kruzer, whose latest release, a split 7" with 'the council flats of kingsbury' is going down a storm... "LJ Kruser's first offering is an enchanting slice of ambient techno that pulsates and shimmers with sublime chords and gentle shuffling 4/4 rhythms, whilst closing track 'soccer dog' scatters tiny electro beats over an emotive video game soundtrack. a highly engaging listen from beginning to end and well worthy of your pennies." (overload media) "four perky tracks in a variety of electronic styles. from steady, rolling almost new wave / post punk to a more quirky, old school, melodic sounding electronica vibe via a bit of abstract noodling. third release. going strong. wicked." (smallfish) http://unchartedaudio.com/personnel/ljkruzer/ w/ DJ's Thorsten Sideb0ard and The Legendary Jesse Belle playing stuff like: schneider tm, bauri, erase errata, kid 606, eu, digitonal, max tundra, lali puna, spare snare, fonda500, sybarite, gold chains, murcof, do make say think, taylor savvy, digitonal, galaktlan, ulrich schnauss, the young people, l'altra, the delgados, pro forma, tex la homa, rothko, electric birds, the liars, the boy lucas, gauge, Xinlisupreme, Seelenluft, Skelf, Manitoba, Hans Appelqvist, Mum ...
