I know this is an old track, but I recently got my mitts on a 12" of 'Prime Audio Soup' with a rather nice BoC remix. If anyones heard this track, can they point me out some more hiphop-flavoured IDM? I love this track, and most other non-rap hiphop is like always laid back stuff. This has IDM-ish basslines and other bits of sonic madness. Cheers Rich

There's a Skam compilation (also pretty old - I think '97?) called "a Skampler" or something like that you might be interested in. It has a couple of older BOC tracks ("Everything you do is a Rainbow" is an awesome track) and some Gescom, Bola and such.... I think it may be something you'd like.. Jamie Richard wrote:

(it's "everything you do is a balloon," also available on Boards of Canada's "hi scores" EP, which I'd highly recommend. The only difference between the two tracks is that the one on the Skampler is in reverse stereo?) And yeah, the first skampler is great. derek --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Sorry about that, i hit the send button too quick.. @_@ Re: Prime Audio Soup (12"/CD single) 'RUOK?" doesn't come out until October 15th, so you would more than likely fall in love with the sublime basslines and funky rhythms on this upcoming release. Other releases you might want to look into by MBM include 'Satyricon' (contains lyrics), 'Subliminal Sandwich' and 'Actual Sounds + Voices'.. those will thrust you into a warm and fuzzy spot where tough basslines roll against syncopated beats. This Friday night on Digital::Nimbus, we'll be featuring yet another track from the upcoming 'RUOK?' full length called 'SuperSoul'. We do a weekly MBM & Related music block and you can also tune in live-online at www.kuci.org. Check www.digitalnimbus.com for more info on the mailing list. Mellowtrons - Bittersweet Synthphony or something I really like Danger's occasional single tracks. The one mp3 he put up on his short-lived mp3.com page was fantastic! The albums have good songs, but there's too much filler for them to be really great *albums*. derek --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
