I saw the same show in Detroit. My wife was falling asleep (the show
started way late), so we had to leave half way through, but the sets I saw
by String Theory, TTA and Maersk were stellar indeed. The DJs (Scott
Zacharias and Matthew Dear, I think) were both amazing...Scott spun some of
the best cheese-corn stuff I have ever heard in one concentrated blast (I
am completely impressed with his ear for this stuff and his devotion to it!
A *true* geek - hats off!!) and Matt (if that was him) dished out some
prime fodder for the current zeitgeist. Great event and kudos to all
involved. Wished I could have stayed for Perspects, Dabrye and Raumschmiere
as I know they would have been well worth the wait. I dragged my
brother-in-law down (formerly uninitiated to live IDM) and even he was duly
impressed. Spent some time talking with Josh from ST - nice guy. All of
them seemed like genuinely nice folks, including the Hefty and Ghostly
label people. If the tour hits your town (I was under the impression that
it wasn't that long of a deal?), I would encourage everyone to drop in.
Great stuff.
