Artist Squarepusher Album Title Do You Know Squarepusher Date of Release Oct 1, 2002 Genre Electronica just finished up listen to a "pre-release" of the above : 10 tracks from a show in japan ( sounds like an audience recording ! ) and boy its boring...but the japanese seems to enjoy the garbage.. ... if its jenkinson who shouts : AAAWWRIGHT... YEAH YEEEAAAHHHH ....DO YA HAVENA GOOD TIME ?? then his a fucking moron. the 7 socalled studio tracks is absolutely of minimal interest. Just the usual noise to fill up a cd (simply because of lack of talent). The Joy Division/love will tear is apart is so close to the original that its pointless. warp records should be happy to get rid of aphex twin and squarepusher from there label

so... do you like _any_ squarepusher at all? because if you claim he suffers (enjoys?) a lack of talent, you'd be indicating that you don't like any of his works... so why would anyone here care about your review, given your preconception of his music? i'm not saying that "do you know squarepusher" is a good or bad album, i'm just wondering what message you hope to convey with your review. __michal --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

i've heard unanimously that the live album is not so hot (because of the recording process), but the 2 studio tracks I've heard sound fantastic. I personally really enjoyed "Go Plastic" and the noisier he gets, the more I enjoy it. I don't think his penchant for noise ought to be mistaken for lack of talent. He's incredibly skilled as a producer and bass player, and it sounds more like you just dislike his entire body of work. Hardly appropriate then to be posting a "review" if you consider him to be talentless as a precedent....

Well, not entirely. There may well be other people who don't really like Squarepusher's previous work, but are, as most people are, curious about new releases. Rather than hearing "it's good, so good!" all the time, it's refreshing occasionally to hear "i don't really like his stuff, and this also fails to impress me." Artists change over time, so it'd be pretty closed-minded to assume that just because you didn't like them in the past you're always going to dislike them. At least this person is listening to new releases. derek ------- eggytoast.com ------- kills germs on contact --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
