check www.outwardmusic.com they have real audio of 'reverse sender' on their
audio page. emanate had some great exclusive mp3s, but the site appears to
be under renovation (?)
reverse sender has a good cross section of solenoid's ability to go between
gonzo/playful ("mentat picnic") to some pretty dramatic, sweeping synth
pop("you can't" is my fave.) services rendered is a bit more oblique, still
very playful, but it has a circumspect, twisting & complex quality which is
a trademark of all the standout emanate releases. I find neither release to
be as electro flavored as 'the narcissist.' on hiao hiao hiao.
the thing to track down would be the 'international combat'(?) comp on
obscure french label citizenes paralleles-- different synthpop/electro
"delegates" from different countries each submit a track. overall the comp
plays well, resembles a Solvent record, but David's "grey pavilion" (as
solenoid) is far and away one of my favorite solenoid tracks of all time. I
don't have the record handy to post the correct info on that--
hope this helps
