I would like to pay my brief respects and condolences to the families and friends of those lost and the victims of injury in the NYC and DC incidents. All were innocents who never deserved to be used by old white Republicans and Arabs to dirty political ends. Rest in peace to the dead, and may the rest of you who live on manage to put together some sense of normalcy in your lives. I'd also like to say goodbye to this list, and to wish all the best to the people I have "met" over a good email conversation and two (and more) in the IDM community over these last six or seven odd years. It's been on-and-off fun (though more 'off' of late, sadly) and it's time to move on... Take it easy, and see you all at the Autechre "Rogaine and Geritol" summer tour in 2083! Well it's been 10 years since I joined this list. I discovered a lot of great music and made countless friends here but, because of the ever increasing signal-to- noise ratio, it's time to retire from this idm-list (and from my lance@inaudible.com email address as well). damn, you know, everytime I actually started paying attention to this list again, I'd look for lance. was glad to see a recent few posts from him and then he's gone! this guy will be missed... been on this list for something like eight years and only one guy has influenced my purchases more (mr j tar, although mr harris gets me into that indie stuff). and no one has come close in regards to the sheer amount of info & real content from the reviews, forwarded label stuff, discography info, etc etc etc...

Aaaaah - sweet sentiments, thanks! I've been here going on for eight years now, and I recognise numerous 'old-timers' names from before my joining. And my presence here is thanks to Thomas Weibrecht (hey, are you still around??) who 'saved' me from 4AD :-)) So much music, so little time! It's always good to have like-minded individuals pre-digest some of it and inform the rest of us, isn't it? Those are the people I thank time and time again, and those are the ones who make continued subbing to this list worthwhile.
