my nomination would have to be.... kid 606 at the knitting factory sept/2000 rediculous.... thong song remixes, old dirty bastard accapella shimmy shimmy y'all, not knockin the 36 chambers but this was stupid, basically thought it was a huge waste of time and cash, he had 2 macs set up and looked as if he was lookin at porn, between the usual dsp shit he actually unplugged one mac, sound dropped and then plugged it back in, for such a "techie" he should have been able to hook his laptops up correctly, the crowd was also very uninterested, maybe instead of releasing everything he ever does, he should take some time and kick out some jams, quit trying and just do it, out, ryan --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I have heard similar complaints about 606 in Detroit not long ago when he was touring with Gold Chains, although I was not there personally. What a shame. Not sure of the performer's name (sorry), but the opening act for Mum in Columbus awhile back was the most boring live act I have ever seen. Good musically I suppose, but he looked like a manequin on stage and the crowd was practically lulled to sleep. JS NP: Brothom States - "Rutka"

Probably Nautilis, another IDMlist created "star". --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

i actually disagree with this.... I saw the same show in Chicago, and I thought Kippi Kaninus was quite good. Yes, a bit dry on the visuals, but his music was really nice I thought. I hadn't heard it before and I was pleasantly surprised and engaged. And the venue was about 110 degrees, so that says a lot. I thought that Gold Chains outperformed anyone on the recent 606 tour. He so obviously enjoys what he's doing and doesn't compromise his ideas. 606 was fine, I thought, a bit boring (very long set as I recall), similar to his recent album (which is basically more of the same pop mashup "appropriation"), but GC was awesome. I also enjoyed Lesser's foray into laptop death metal. The worst show I've ever seen? Gosh. I usually forget about that type of stuff. I think the absolute worst show would be this goth show I went to in Cleveland... I went to see my friend's pseudo-trip-hop group open up the night (not realizing this was a $20 event for multiple bands) and was soon treated to some of the most mediocre electro-industrial music. I used to love that stuff but man, this was bad. Then I started to feel ill and ended up puking my guts out in the bathroom; at first I thought it was a physical reaction to how bad the music was, but actually I'd apparently gotten food poisoning from my lunch. ;-) m.mercer :: design + sound design: http://www.matthewmercer.com/ sound: http://www.mattmercer.com _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Yes - it was Kippi Kaninus...I suppose it was only bad from the performance perspective. Let's just say that he played thoroughly non-engaging background music and popping in his CD in a single deck on the middle of the stage would have been equally as enjoyable. Not a knock on the music so much as the performance. Yawn... JS
