I would remix the song with the bass in mono. There is really not much need for stereo bass, unless you have some sort of crazy pan effects going on. That way you can just slap on a filter cutting off everything at 100hz for only that track. I wouldn't suggest a filter on the whole mix, but that's just me. Is it stereo flange? The easiest thing to do is just convert the file to mono. Mono makes for a better vinyl cut too, in my opinion. The problem shouldn't be a big deal if the track sounds OK in mono. Other than avoiding phase problems in the bass (which I expect is what you're trying to do) the main thing is to get a nice balanced mix, without too much high end. The best thing to do if you trust the mastering engineer is to do as little as possible, and let him or her use their gear to optimize the mix for vinyl... On Wed, 24 Jul 2002, adrian jonsson wrote:
