In addition, Boom Bip & Doseone are performing live at the Essential Festival in London's Hackney Marshes on Saturday August 3. What they're saying about Circle: "they make DJ Shadow's latest look as progressive as a penny farthing... let them take your inner ear out there" NME "playful, contradictory, intuitive and fuckked up" Seven ***** "one part hip hop, one part audio theatre and one part crafted genius" DJ **** "trademark cut 'n' paste messiness and irreverent ingenuity... so far ahead of the rest" Mojo "hybrid visionary psych-hop... Fuck. This is beautiful music" Careless Talk Costs Lives "a surreal rush of high-art hip hop that acknowledges no boundaries" Uncut "[Doseone's] a poet, an artist and a gent, and Boom Bip has served him up weird beats fit for a peculiar-king... Excellent" Muzik **** "part regression therapy session, part open mic night at the original Cabaret Voltaire, part madman mumbling on a street corner, this might be the best, and certainly the most challenging, document to have emerged from HipHop's savant garde" The Wire "Doseone is a rapper who occasionaly resembles Captain Beefheart on helium, while Boom Bip is a producer who is as keen on sound collages as he is on thumping beats... original and engrossing" The Times "a certifiable Freudian freak-out" Jockey Slut "contemporary, challenging and accomplished" Flux "maps out a rather dreamy, disclocated territory, haunted by the suonds of childhood and distant, half-familiar pop and film score samples... magical" Metro "Anticon's masterful poet/lyricist Doseone impresses with another fantastic release" Urb "avant hip hop similar to Anti-Pop, Latryx or Kool Keith, but definitely on its own wavelength" XLR8R For more information and mailorder on Circle, go to: http://www.posteverything.com/artists/release.php?id=1868 3. Murcof radio mix We've had a little break since our last radio mix session, but Fernando Corona (aka Murcof) has come up trumps with this one. The hour long mix can be heard on Campus Radio Network in France, and on discerning stations worldwide: 1. Murcof - Momento (Mutek) 2. Jon Santo - Adagio in A Minor (MCA) 3. Agustin Lara - 15 Inolvidable 'excerpt' (RCA) 4. Giya Kancheli - Largo Molto (ECM) 5. Via Acrca - Por Avion (Nimboestatic) 6. Dianstía Hidalguense - El Tepetzintleco (Corasón) 7. Álvaro Ruiz - Dr Farabeuf meets Murcof [safe position 3] (Static Discos) 13. Ariel Guzik - Resonador Espectral Armónico (?) If you can broadcast this mix on your radio show or website, please get in touch. 5. Forthcoming releases Susumu Yokota's new album, The Boy & The Tree, will be released in September. Possibly his best and most personal work to date, the album includes material previewed at his UK dates earlier this year. We are planning another low price album label sampler (like 1999's Osmosis compilation) for release in September, featuring tracks from all our recent and forthcoming albums. Manitoba is currently working on his follow up to Start Breaking My Heart, and from what we've heard, he's not going to disappoint his many fans. We are planning to release a single in October, with the album to follow early next year. In the meantime, you should check out his astonishing reworking of Seelenluft's 'Manila' on Klein Records. We're in the process of confirming dates for him in Australia and New Zealand in September. We are also hoping to new Murcof material out by the end of the year. Fernando Corona's appearances at the Sonar, Mutek and Aquaplaning festivals over the summer have caused a bit of a stir, and there are plans for a brand new EP in the not too distant future. Finally, it looks like we will be releasing the latest album by Vienna's Sofa Surfers later this summer, in the UK only. Already released by Klein/Virgin in Europe, the album has not been picked up in the UK, and thoroughly deserves to be heard. The album features guest vocals from Mark Stewart, Sensational, Jeb Loy Nichols, Junior Delgado and Dalek, among others. Keep an eye on http://posteverything.com/leaf for regular updates. 5.
