There's very little ragga jungle that comes out any more...the best things to look out for are the rewind records label, and the hand grenade label. They're both doing insane throw-back hyper amens + huge dancehall cuts. Congo Natty still puts out trax, but i haven't picked up any in a while. Greensleeves re-released alot of their older cuts which are excellent. The best place in general to look is for represses of older cuts. - cutups ----- Original Message ----- From: "Adam Collier" <ahcollier@hotmail.com> To: "Idm@Hyperreal.Org" <idm@hyperreal.org> Sent: Tuesday, June 25, 2002 3:36 PM Subject: [idm] Bad boys in Kingston, Rude boys in socal? I believe he said new jungle not represses of older stuff and I do make my own "remixes" with two records mixing at the same time be that a dancehall track (some off of greensleeves specifically the opener on my "tribute to beenieman mix") and NEWER non amen jungle. -Joel cutups <cutup@andythepooh.com> wrote: There's very little ragga jungle that comes out any more...the best things to look out for are the rewind records label, and the hand grenade label. My point is that there really isn't much good, new ragga jungle being produced aside from the labels i mentioned Mixes are another story all together. Some of the popular stuff of the past few years, mainly from digital, has a dubby sound to it, but it doesn't really match the stuff rupture mixes or the stuff from go plastic... You might dig some of the stuff from the new venetian snares album, its got a very go-plastic version of ragga feel to it. Also there's a nice ragga influenced cut on the Urbana Youth Outreach 12" on Eupholus. - cutups --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
