This might seem like I'm going to far, but would it be possible for Nir to set it up so that Soulseek would boot anyone who had more than one track or so of anything that MTV would touch with a ten foot pole? You seriously don't have a single song that got MTV airtime in your entire library? No copy of "Thriller" or "Smells Like Teen Spirit" or maybe a little secret stash of Abba songs or something? And besides, if you seriously believe that no good music ever makes it onto MTV, your elitist head is so far up your elitist ass that, uh, I don't know how to finish that statement. Mostly I just wanted to call you elitist. I had wanted to use the word elitist actually, but I couldn't think of it right away. I don't have a copy of anything off of MTV on my comp, no. I have tons old MTV stuff in my actual physical collection, you know on cds, that you pay for with money. Hell, I prolly have more stuff that was played on MTV than most IDM people, but none of the shit they play nowadays. And they don't play Aphex much at all, gimme a break. I should have qualified my statement by saying newer teeny bopper mtv, and instead of just one track said a good amount. I exagerrated a bit when I said ten foot pole, but I actually do think the vast majority of the stuff they play is shit. Most anything you name that they play I can name something better in the same vein that is better which they don't. what are you doing sticking up for mtv anyway? Maybe you'll agree with me if they get around to taking Soulseek down, which I think was a godsend. I've bought more cds because of Soulseek then ever because of it. p.s. I dig the Osbournes for sure though. On Tue, 18 Jun 2002, No one in particular wrote:

MTV's got nothing to do with it... I found out about the death of audiogalaxy a week or so ago when I was trying to download some mazzy star. Regardless, I'm sure that the RIAA is going to continue chopping off heads right on down the line, until everyone uses decentralized fileswapping software and they have to learn to live with it. Limewire, WinMX... what was that first one? Freeserve or something like that. Anyway, there are plenty of choices, and as people figure out that napster clones will never be free again, they should start to actually have some worthwile content on them. Rah anarchy and all that jazz. Z --- kingmob@nmt.edu wrote:
