notice: JG Thirwell's new album on Mike Patton's Ipecac label under his Steroid Maximus alias, "Ectopia" is really quite awesome. Its kind of like a Foetus record, but no vocals or guitars. It makes up for the lack of vocals with really dense instrumentation and complex song structures. Lots of orchestral stuff, space age bachelor pad sounds, ambient electronics, speedy breaks, and an uncommon (for thirwell at least) dosage of "the funk". Jim Thirwell plays more instruments than you can count. There are accordians, saxaphones, trumpets, glockenspiels and operatic synth-voices and oodles of other shit. I think this qualifies as a musical smorgasbord. Check it out now. -Aaron --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
