Hello -
First, an apology; if you don't wish to receive this e-mail, please let me
know and I'll remove you right away.
Second, some news of immediate impact. The show I was supposed to play
tonight (Thursday, May 30) at Porter Street in Detroit is CANCELLED. My
deepest apologies to anyone who was planning on coming out. I will attempt
to reschedule this as soon as possible. The problem is that Porter Street
had some issues with an electrical inspection, so things are somewhat
uncertain as to when I'll be able to make it up.
Now, on to more interesting and exciting news.
chromedecay is now a record label of sorts. I never expected or wanted to
run a label, but I had a project that I really wanted to release on my own
terms, and decided to make the jump. chromedecay will be low key, and
devoted to my own personal projects.
The first of those projects is a live recording from October 15, 2001.
Entitled "bill van loo - live at leopold bros", it captures one of the live
performances that I've become known for. Featuring great design work by my
long-time friend j. schnable (surfacelevel), this is a limited edition run
of 300 professionally duplicated CD-Rs with full color artwork. See the web
site for more information, including a tracklist and list of places to buy
it. Right now, it's only available via direct order from me, but it will be
in Detroit/Ann Arbor area stores soon.
In other news, my 7" on city centre offices is still available, and getting
a little bit of press. Check Forced Exposure for online ordering, or ask
your local shop.
Finally, I have a DJ gig coming up at Necto in Ann Arbor on Thursday, June
13, playing the entire night by myself. Expect a deep and wide mix of
interesting music.
Cheers,
Bill
