Omigod. Are you actually accusing Kid 606 of aping someone's sound? .......:)......Glad someone has good taste out there... Mostly, that I have seen, its been on FCommunication.....a very hot label. However, he has a Helsinki mixed session on Turbo records......and records as a host of disguises--all of which I couldnt mention..but here goes some; Bobby Forester, (a release on Plumphouse---old but several tracks are just classic Chicago house influenced tracks that I love), Jori Juhana, Step Time Orchestra and prolly many others........ http://www.fcom.fr/, and then just branch out from there....I say..... Cant say who's similar but here are some cats that are still getting heavy spin time: Chris Gray, Mr. Fingers, Drexciya, Kraftwerk, UR, Future Beat Alliance, Stasis/Redcell Split, Fabrice Lig, John Beltran, Robert Hood, Dimension 5, Tom Churchill on Emoticon and Headspace records, Russ Gabriel, Keith Tucker, At Jazz, Global Communication, I have wore Nuron out but I like to go back to it...., B-12........, Carl Craig--older material, Omar Hackett IUPUI University Library 755 W. I'd say Charles Webster's music (at least on his album 'All systems gone' by Presence) is close enough to some of Jori's output -- but with much more vocals.
