DATE/TIME/INFO: Sat. 05.18.02. // $10 18+ to enter 21+ to Drink 9:00pm > ????? LOCATION: Xenodrome 1320 Potrero (@ 25th) San Francisco, (in the Mission) PERFORMANCE: under the radar// Nautilis (Planet Mu / Ninja Tune) Nautilis first came onto the scene with Coldcut's Re:Volution, Space Journey Nautilis Remix from Ninja Tune Records, which was released last year. His latest work consists of projects released on London-based Planet-Mu Records are 'Marufo 7"' , 'Sketches Vol .1', 'Are You An Axolotl' (Release date:04/02), and 'Sketches Vol.2'. Plastiq Phantom (Imputor? Records) Tucked behind the hyperkinetic beats and glitchy sound design are delicate, accessible melodies and a direct approach to songwriting that's rarely heard in the world of "intelligent dance music." QP's refined sense of melody in motion, capturing the lively patterns that surround us but are so easily overlooked. He is also know for his alter-ego, Johnny Kawasaki, who writes naughty glitch cut-ups of pop tracks. Bass Kittens (Pretension Records) JSD has been involved with electronic music professionally since 1992. His first single, Trip Harder, released under the name Ultraviolet Catastrophe, was an underground hit. It has since been featured on the Chemical Brothers' mix CD Brothers Gonna Work It Out. In 1993, JSD started Bass Kittens to put out his own work. A string of 12" singles followed. In 2000 he started Pretension Records with J Bondy & Justin Maxwell, with the aim of pushing West Coast electro. Danja is the face and voice of Bass Kittens in 2002. She has appeared on the Virgin Voices compilation tribute to Madonna, performed live with Single Cell Orchestra & Freaky Chakra, and MoodClinic. She wrote the "Ask Danja" advice column for Blaster magazine. Her mission is to seek the self. deGiere (Emanate Records) San Francisco native Chris deGiere, presents a dynamic mix of soupy digital ambience and bass heavy abstract beats. deGiere has released material on Emanate, NoType, and Throat, and has performed in festivals and clubs accross the west coast US. He is playing in support of his up-coming 10" release on Emanate Records. Zygote (Under the Radar) Zygote began as a solo project of Stephen Ruiz after the breakup of Analog Lifeform (featuring Nukie) in 1998. Having releases on Under the Radar Records and Alectric Records, Zygote became a project focused on more experimental electronic, and DSP methods of working. Zygote will be featuring tracks from his upcoming relase, "Reversion Sequence 1" (utr002) on UTR records. Girlie8 (Echolocation / Eyephunk / Fuel US) Miss Van Buskirk (aka girLie8) was an instrumental part of bringing live music collaboration around the globe - using the internet - to a realization through her work with Rocket Network. She has worked closely with many high profile artists using the technology (names you might recognize include Herbie Hancock, BT, Stevie Wonder, Sinead O'Connor...) In the beginning of 2001, she teamed up with Anna Sitko (aka Anon) to create 'echolocation', a series of ambientech environments showcasing audio and visual arts of the ambient/experimental sort. Their echolocation audiovisual sets broadcast globally through Ninja Tune's pirate station PirateTV.net every Tuesday at 5pm PST. Recently Stacey was the first visual artist to appear on groovetech.com, an online music station with studios in London and Seattle. She has accompanied a variety of artists and DJ's from chill king Dr. Alex Patterson of the Orb to Chicago's techno legend Juan Atkins and is currently collaborating with a variety of musicians in the left-of-center-realms on upcoming music video releases, as well as a DVD from the Fuel label which hosts artists like Tipper, Si Begg, Buckfunk 3000, Ils, Cold Fusion Mafia and Andrea Parker. other artists presented>> ::VERY, VERY Special Guest TBA ::The Luxury Tax (Under the Radar) ::Stephen Williams (B.O.L.T. / Blasthaus) ::Evan Rose (Under the Radar) ::Delray (Delray Arts) --- from your friends @ http://www.undertheradar.net _________________________________________________________________ Join the world?s largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
