Go to www.google.com and type in Granulab. It's a freeware program, and has a decent explanation of what Granular synthesis is. I've got the program, and reckon I could make an entire track by using this process alone.... I think the other thing I meant to mention when I originally asked the question about processing vocals was how they get the skipping effect (like on 'Drukqs', Fatboy Slims 'Praise You', and many other tracks... Can it be done live, or is it a 'laptop' thing? Rich ----- Original Message ----- From: "K. it's when you break the audio into tiny samples and apply effects on each little piece independently. you can break the original audio into pieces by time or by frequency. -j K. L. wrote:

gotta love the twin. quick question...trying to hook a couple of friends up to the list - can't remember how to subscribe them, as it has been awhile. Can someone please help me steer them in the right direction? Thought it was just send a message to idm@hyperreal.org, but apparently not. The addresses are: jeromeedwards13@yahoo.com polyphonic614@hotmail.com gracias - also - marketing a 2lp, 21 track promo to any interested small labels - professionally edited and ready-to-go ish...fractured breaks, distorted blip-hop, drum 'n bass, electro, etc. If you are interested please privately send an e-mail with contact information, label info., etc. and I would love to send out a copy. No links on the net, but i'll send you a CD set. Just lookin' to spread the love and talent of a truly talented soul. Looking for a break, not a buck. Serious inquiries only please...no games, no diseases - wait, starting to sound a bit too much like a personal add, but seriously... xoxoxo, J. Stickel On the Floor Productions 342 West 1st Ave. Columbus, Ohio 43201
