I can't even contain my excitement at today's update. It has been a while, and I should hope the diversity and quality of this round's releases will provoke forgiveness... Anyway SUB 016 ZUG ISLAND // ACROSS THE BLUE LINE Jeph Wacheski is one of many gems of the unbelievable Toronto scene, but his fearless experimental nature and full understanding of sound make his songs stand out in a way that seems multi-dimensional. This is Jeph's second Subverseco release, his first being the wildly popular (and noisy!) "Kimchee EP" http://subverseco.com/016 SUB 017 v/a SCIENCE BOOKS REMIX CLASS This winter, Dustin (Headphone Science) and myself (Todd, Books on Tape) went on a short tour together. A decision was made to do a split online EP, and, since both of us are active remixers, we thought it would be nice to drop some of these once we got permission from the bands. We did, and this EP is an interesting collection of reinterpretations. Of course, we remix each other at the end. Look for many collaborations from the two of us in the future. Artists remixed include TANGIBLE, ASHLAND, HELLOTHISISALEX, CONSAFOS, CHAKI, DEWEY DECIMATOR and more. http://subverseco.com/017 SUB 018 Box Social 'Collected Recordings' This has been sitting on my shelf for over a year and is too striking to leave unreleased. Three collaborations between Todd Drootin and David Klotz of L.A. shoegazers Fonda. Some of this stuff has been used as background music on TV, so you know it is slick. RADIO RELEASE: RS01 Art Ensemble Of Subverseco 'Idoltery' Over 20 of the freakiest free-jazz ensembles in a cut-and-paste frenzy. 30 minutes to get way, way, way out. Derek Bailey, Evan Parker, Sun Ra, Steve Reich, Marion Brown, Albert Ayler, Spontaneous Music Ensemble, Brian Eno, Sonic Youth and many many more!!! SPECIAL NON SUBVERSECO NOTE!!! The first mp3 from Books on Tape's upcoming Deathbomb Arc album is NOW AVAILABLE on the deathbombarc.com website. "Dance Of The Drum Cadets" features Kerri K on tablas and Bob from Slowcoach on guitar. This is the first taste of the BOT sound for 2002!!! ALSO - SUBVERSECO ON VINYL In late April, Subverseco and Deathbomb Arc will be releasing a limited eition 7" on clear vinyl. This one is tight. we love you. love us. http://subverseco.com _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
