yoinked the following as of late d'arcangelo_blind retina_engine_12"-off kilter beats, half floor friendly...somewhat repetitious but well crafted and has some gorgeous moments, particularly between the 1A and 1B tracks...lush and crunchy...it seems the d'arcangelo guise of the italian brothers has incorporated some of the more ambient/melodic aspects of their other project, monomorph on this release...its much more "new-school-melodic-idm" than their rephlex release, which many considered to be an italian autechre bite...even though "fate in us" is sweet nectar team doyobi_cryptoburners_skam_CD-wierd...dont hear much aural excitement or highs in this album, well, during most of it...at first i was like "damn, iVe been skammed again"..it seemed to me this album was quite a ho-hum-dinger but i let it bang from start to finish a few times, most recently in a car trip to albany from nyc, and it provided plenty of entertainment...i guess its an acquired taste, team doyobi's noodlings...anyway, the sounds in this are very monotonal and everything sounds as if it was eq'd at the exact same levels, as most of the tracks have the same kind of things going on in each, WIERD pseudo-electro kick works with some bugged out percussion, almost primal and also some kookoo voice sampling...the last four/five tracks are quite beautiful at moments, and the direction each track takes is most definitely NOT what I for one expected...some may say its lazy, some may call it absent mided and unfocused..i dunno, i think, as an album, this works quite well, even though some of the songs feel like reworkings of the the song two tracks b4...not for everybody but definitely an interesting work rude ass tinker_imperial break/silk ties_deathchant_12"-just go out and buy this, all of you..SICK SICK SICK...why does u-ziq's work as u-ziq PALE in comparison to his other guises??? im saying, royal astronomy as an album is a solid body of works that work together well..just like the kid spatula album..but honestly in my eyes and ears these albums are boring, boring, boring...w/ the exception of "hard love" on kid spatula and a couple things on royal astronomy....mike p. needs to GIVE UP the abstract, goofball melodic tendencies he's got ( i do like a lot of it though, just not the circus/doogie howser type melodies) and stick to the tight, streetbeatwise song structures he's thrown down over the years...anywho, this is your next floor filler, and possibly cleaner...imperial break will destroy the PA of any given club, given the right mixer... oh yeah, i ordered "holding pattern" by tipper, the man who will dethrone tony orlando as the choice pick for big-money stage promoters... and, is the IDM_MAKERS list still up & running??? don't wanna bother ya'll with my inquiries about programs, hardware and such...thanks!! tidewatergemfish np_slick rick_sitting in my car
