"Heart Of the Sunrise" vs "Supernaut" eh? Poor Yes... heh. But I have to disagree with Bruford being _pure_ math... While he'd never cut in the Meters or the JBs I think Bruford definitely has a sense of groove that a lot of virtuoso drummers lack. Beside he knows when NOT to play as documented by his non-playing on the improv 'Trio' off of "Starless and Bible Black". As far as live Crimson albums... "The Nightwatch" is an excellent 2cd set from this era. "USA" is a single cd that's due to be reissued sometime in the spring. But if you're even mildly interested in this era of Crimson you should definitely pick up "The Great Deceiver" 4cd set of various concerts. Anyone else out there think that John Wetton's monster bass + Bruford's snare was Techstep circa 1973? hs --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
