The people at http://www.sputnik7.com/ have quite a large selection of video clips in Windows Media ASF format: FSOL, AFX, AE, Four Tet, but also a lot of the more popular artists like Gorillaz, Air, ... and whatnot. Anyway, just wanted to share this, as I've been downloading quite a lot of them. Only "problem" is that because they are streamed, you can't download them with your browser. You need a program called ASFRecorder; you can download that at http://www.lemuria.org/mirrors/asfrecorder/ To save you time figuring out the URL's to download: each file has a four-letter code, you can see that when you hover over the links (eg. http://www.sputnik7.com/vod/vodartist.jsp?key=cota&section=music has the code (key) "cota") which you have to fill in this URL for ASFRecorder: mms://wm01.bluetape.com/XXXX_300.asf (eg. mms://wm01.bluetape.com/cota_300.asf) to download the high-quality movie. Just for the record: this is not illegal, provided you don't distribute the copyrighted material. --Jan! --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Uh, this is highly likely to be illegal under the DCMA. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

gee, i'll bet sputnik7 are telling labels/artists that they're up there in a format that isn't downloadable.... anyway, whats the pleasure purpose in downloading it once you've seen it --- not that many videos i wanna watch over & over again, least not thru my computer... (imho) btw: whats the dcma (does this exist in england/europe?) At 7:32 am -0600 4/3/02, Andrew Hime wrote:

But it's also very likely that the original poster and quite a few other IDM-listees are living in countries where the DCMA isn't relevant in (yet)... np: Christian Kleine - Several (Valis) --------------------------------------------------------------------- Sent through MailGateway - http://www.ssw.uni-linz.ac.at:2000/ Send AND read your emails EVERYwhere. --------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Since this isn't illegal (what i'm about to show you), here's a list of the 4-char codes for some of the artist/track video on demand streams on sputnik7. If you've seen the previous emails on this thread, you know what to do with this. Damn, this sure took a whole lot of time to collect. DCMA = digital millenium copyright act http://anti-dmca.org/ that should be the answer you need.
