Ah, first CD i have bought since january... Cottage Indusrtries 2 compilation on neo Ouija, and most lovely it is too. I was torn between picking that up and the Infant CD. In the end i opted for the comp, cos it was double disc, and had so many artists i haven't heard before. Outstanding disc tho, just truely warm minimal 'lectronica. Also picked up the Kettel 7" on Planet Mu, tho haven't been able to listen to that much, as i still don't have a turntable. Went to see The Notwist last night. I was really dissapointed that Christian Kleine fell sick on the second night of the tour, he would have complemented the Notwist really well. As it was, Posthuman opened for them, and i was pretty impressed with their stuff. Your most cliche looking bedroom/laptop technicians ever, so into their music, manical headbobbing, grinning, chain smoking, should be smoking spliffs, driving crunchy fucked beats, with a definite nod to hip hop and 'ardcore. i was dissapointed in the crowds' blase attitude towrds them tho. The Notwist... wow, so much more band-like than i was expecting. I kinda assumed it would be one guy playing laptop with a guitar. As it was, i think there were 5 of them on stage... guitar, bass, keyboard, i-book, and drummer. Somewhere between the pop sensibilities of american college radio, kinda Weezer like, and then big driving krautrock influenced workouts, with a well balanced use of the laptop beats and glitches. hmm, yes, nice weekend and all! but ouch, f*@king monday mornign again so quickly. ~! -- [thorsten@highpointlowlife.com ]# --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
