for the life of me I can't figure out how to play this thing. I have 2 different slabs of vinyl, each one has a hole in the right place and a hole offset from that. My needle just blazes across the record and I can't hear anything. Am I supposed to just weight the needle down more so it sticks in the groove? Or is this pressing just bad? I am getting confused. Is there any point to this extra hole? <sigh> God dammit, sometimes I hate IDM. I wish I stuck to buying cds ... --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

The idea is that the offset hole makes the record speed occilate, so that the sound speeds and slows accordingly... sometime the needle will skip over the grooves if your anti-skip wheel isn't set accordingly. Cd's suck, yo. _Donna

Ah, thanks. I got this working now, I am having to really make sure I put the needle right on the groove I want to play. Really trippy, very cool. There's this one track that's a nice super-low vibrating bass tone. Perfect for pissing off the upstairs neighbors while they're having their hippie drum circle .... fun stuff, I'm glad I got this. mr.bozac On Sun, 3 Mar 2002, donna summer wrote:
