Well it's too late now; after 2/3 weeks of no communication I took my business elsewhere. I have ordered from them in the past and service was always good and shipping was fast, so I would like to order from them again. Well, I'm gonna have to second the "Bent Crayon isn't the best place to shop" opinion. I've had some success with them, but now that I've moved they don't seem to understand that they need to ship to the new address and not to the old one. This only happened once, but that's enough. I explicitly told them I had moved. And in the past their communication was not always, er, timely. I've had the "weeks go by" thing happen to me, too. They're not *bad*, exactly, but they're not *good*, exactly, either. I definitely wouldn't put them in my top 3 favorite online places to shop. My best online shopping experiences have been (in no order) with: Skimo Forced Exposure Amazon eBay Sister Ray WarpMart CDZone.co.uk And if you can't get it from any of those places, Bent Crayon ain't likely to have it either... ===== .Adam http://www.damek.org/ __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? I agree I live south of Cleveland and even after visiting record stores in London and Holland it still rates as the best record store I've ever been too. And lucky us we live close enough to enjoy the benefits of rumageing through the thousands of titles John has in store. groovetech is great, but they always seem to be out of everything that I am looking for when I want it. I live a few blocks away from their seattle warehouse, so when I do place an order for something that they have in stock I tend to get it _very_ quickly. /mauck/ On Mon, Mar 04, 2002 at 09:33:12PM +0000, nethed wrote:

Would you rate Sister Ray as a good service? I've had nothing but crap about them, because both me and some friends have had to wait over two months before finally giving up... (One CD I ordered I got from Amazon within three days...) I beleive they are absolute poo, and their catalogue (although looking impressive) is complete bull, basically cause everything I've ordered (but won't be in the future) has had to have been ordered from their 'distributor'. I work in retail and this is a crap service. I got most of my FAX collection from my local Classical music store, and they've done me proud. Griping over, eBay is a good source, as well as Amazon. Are there any decent online stores catering for IDM and Ambient (basically anything electronic/different?) | They're not *bad*, exactly, but they're not *good*, | exactly, either. [snip] To be honest, I've only ordered from Sister Ray 3 or 4 times, and I think all of those times was to order Toytronic releases. They seem to have a good connection to that label, or something. Also, when I had to communicate with them via email, their responses were prompt and helpful. However, as I haven't ordered from them nearly as much as I have all the others, I can't really rate them comparatively. ===== .Adam http://www.damek.org/ __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? The only problem with Sisterray is that half their online catalogue is not available, and if you order something they do not voluntarily send you any info, like if it's available, when it's shipped etc.. If you chase them up about it though, they are prompt and helpful with their replies. The Toytronic connection is the fact that Martin Haidinger (aka Gimmik) works in the shop.
