Last week was an interesting experience. Scrawny music geek trying to sell clicks and pops to a Hip-Hop crowd. Strangely enough, it worked fairly well; hence a repeat. TONIGHT at the Tonic (31st and Sandy in soggy PDX_) Mix.I.M will spin loungy beaty electronic, dub, illbient, IDM, Electro etc. in the front lounge. No cover. Starts at about 9. For those who don't know, there is also pretty interesting stuff Thursday nights at the Blue Note. Various forms of electronic music with live musician(s) playing. "The Admix Soundrig Collective" Tonight (and every third Thursday of the month) is glitchy IDM stuff. The fourth Thursday is dnb. I forget what the first and second Thursdays are.
