hitting the echo park area of los angeles these days.
thanks to the echo (formerly nyarit) which has played
host to pieterk amoung others and an impromtu set by
dan the automater(when kid 606 cancelled), most nights
NO COVER before 10pm. one block east of the echo (1716
sunset)is sea level records, showcasing a wide range
of artists for FREE nearly twice weekly (of particular
interest may be dopepod on sat march 2 6pm) and
downbeat cafe on alvarado(?(on thursdays the garish
lavender walls and all too contrived jazz motif
becomes tollerable thanks to djs spinning sounds that
range from early twentieth century avant-garde to more
recent dub experimentalism).
anyone else out there living in echo park? get there
quick before it becomes the new silverlake
