Personally I think it's pretty cool not printing them and leaving the interpretation of what sounds 'right' to the player of the record. I never would have got into Autechre if I had been playing their shit at 45 from the jump, I was shocked to hear it on CD at this speed. Leaving it indeterminate can give a record two lives; in the case of something like AE's Envane (first thing I heard from them) it can appeal to both hip-hop heads (like me) and electro kids too. Just pick a speed that sounds best to you and relax, there are only 2 choices you're not gonna get it too far wrong. Peace, SOZER_SHT http://www.wearechangeagent.com

Indeed -- I played virtually all of my Michael Fakesch "Demon" vinyl at 33 rpm and enjoyed it immensely. When I later got hold of the "Marion" CD, I was surprised to find some of my favourite tracks all playing at 45 rpm! Not that it bothered me though -- I still play all the old vinyl at 33 regardless. The tracks work well at both speeds -- especially that Boards of Canada remix. -- Mark Stevens http://www.insertdisc.com/ --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
