>no less
next time you advance a personal opinion, then, you just *might* want to
phrase it in less dogmatic terms that those with which you wrote off the
entire musical output of the "third world" as crap.
quoted 4 lines you, Fuminaro, may be like Bowie, Madonna, i
>you, Fuminaro, may be like Bowie, Madonna, i
>dont know , whoever-
>i like german minimalizm compared to what other
>stuff suck.
it's interesting that you bring up this point, because i just got off the
phone from an hourlong conversation with thomas brinkmann -- who i think
most of us would agree rather epitomizes "german minimalizm" -- and much of
our conversation centered on they hybridity in his music, and the complex
roots of german music -- US military presence in the 60s and 70s introducing
afro-american soul, post-pinochet chilean exiles introducing a latin element
in the 80s and 90s -- and that this hybridity stands in stark opposition to
deep-seated notions of "purity," both racial and cultural, which even now
fuckers like jorg haider are trying to resurrect. in other words, it's quite
subversive. and it entails knowing a *little* something about other forms of
music. but i guess you'd miss that part.
and did you know that throughout latin america, germanic techno actually has
a huge presence? it's very influential in mexico, chile, argentina, with the
result that there's a surprising amount of cross-pollination between those
cultures (btw, i'm not calling latin america *one* culture, either).
i think you need to learn a little something about nuance, and stop assuming
that the thing you happen to like is the *only* thing with value.
