I never write anything... but you sparked a response in me. First... I am an american and I have a sense of humor... Second.. I believe that this list is great the way it is because I can get humor/sillyness from 78595497680 other lists. Look around it isn't hard to find.. in fact a sensible list which speaks of electronic music is very rare these days. -Joel j d <oberheim_thief@yahoo.co.uk> wrote: i watch this list vaguely, but very rarely actually read anything. Friends, ameriphobia is *real*. Let no one mislead you. Whether it is a matter of the low self esteem of others, a matter of preference or genetic determinism is moot and unproductive. Some will use any opportunity to jump on this phobic bandwagon. Beware of easy targets and national scapegoats. 8^D (obligatory emoticon allows me to say practically anything) jeff ps the real answer to all of this is simply : 1. Remain calm. 2. Delete EVERYTHING before reading. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I'm sure if you re-read the original post: very, very carefully - you might not miss the point and jump the gun with your paranoid delusions of anti-american sentiment.... irony...? I love Americans, youre all so damn silly, but in a sweet way :) --- Mxyzptlk <jpklein@telocity.com> wrote:

One must admit the dramatic irony of assuming that idiocy has borders. Non-Americans seem *already* wound up and ready to go off without realizing they demonstrate that the pot often calls the kettle black . Perhaps you should re-read MY post as it seems you missed what (I thought) was the obvious humor in which it was couched. jeff --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

Uh, not to walk into an obvious trap or anything, but isn't it a wee bit illogical to first claim that you don't read the posts, then make nice, broad, sweeping generalizations about the contents and posters thereof? Just a thought. Huh, never thought I'd hear myself defending americans... I'll take it as a good sign of my own philosophical purity. let's see how much a sense of humor you ppl really have :P lol, all in good fun ;) Aphex Twin: "Muqtyl'loopy DaMcHooqulawawaquey" (music CD) - Richard D. James is back with his latest electronic / experimental CD set, which includes 438 discs and over 2,300 tracks. Aphex Twin takes a jump into the most surreal and creative soundscape ever, including such songs as: "Clue Cloo Lande" - Two minutes of a homeless man hitting random keys on a broken piano while James applies a highpass filter at random times. "Marz'a booq Doo Daa Dayee" - 20-second piece of birds chirping while a Minimoog is bashed to pieces by falling construction equipment. "Thee Nootey Pero Fez'or 2: Thee Klumphz" - A five-second bassline loop is repeated for twelve solid minutes while the sound of playing cards hitting a lawnchair plays in the foreground. "Horque Dorque" - As the most dance-friendly song on CD 261, "Horque Dorque" presents the listeners with a gritty, distorted drumbeat accompanied by a 28 different analogue keyboards playing 28 different notes on 28 different resonance settings. This CD is already a smash hit with the demographic of people who think they're smarter and more cultured than everybody else because they listen to unlistenable music that everybody else listens to. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joel Fever" <joel_fever@yahoo.com> To: "j d" <oberheim_thief@yahoo.co.uk>; <idm@hyperreal.org> Sent: Wednesday, February 06, 2002 6:20 AM Subject: Re: [idm] americans/this list

Please. You are now (at least) the third person to post this in the last two days. Credit your sources, too.
