oh, i guess it wouldnt be right not to mention more about the music so i'll do that quickly. a jazzlover we know amon is, and though he did play a little music with jazzy snippets, it must have been a nice release for him to get away from that and focus on the beats. breakbeats. repeated. downtempo breakbeats. uptempo breakbeats. as long as it had a snare around the 2 4, and some shuffled kicks and percussion, it was good. there wasn't much else, so i guess he wanted to be minimal. loud, screeching, grinding, pulsating noises were used as a nice compliment to augment his beats. both amon and p-love must have been fond of this sound as they played it for hours. let me wrap this up by saying that the night was beautifully coordinated - loud screeching sound, rich smoky texture of air, and densely filled standing space are all parallel in their respective sensual interactions.
