In case anyone's interested, Cut Faster and She Ra will be droppin some beats at standard bar tonight from 12 - ?, its a nice little joint, ask the bartender for a sidecar, she loves to make those. What to expect? whatever I get my hands on when I get home, ah the unplanned-been listening to to rococo rot all day-just got that lisa lisa and cult jam record-can't stop playing that mils 12"-where did I put that mantronix record set., exhale. oh yeah, theres also that we are reasonable people comp that I bought at etherea and forgot to take home so its been sitting by my desk unplay for way too long, maybe I should bring it tonight but then again maybe I should just play that chamelons song that's stuck in my head. exhale. i just got back from this show. it was musically the best and worst show i've ever been to. Manitoba had the played the best set i've ever heard. Kevin Blechdom was awesome. Black Lodge was ridiculously terrible (his set and presentation were boo-boo). If anyone has a chance to see Manitoba, don't think twice. --------------------------------- Do You Yahoo!? well, it might not have been his fault, as it looked like he had trouble with the turntables (they kept popping and skipping, and he looked really pissed after his 4 song set). his first record purposely skipped in a loop, i think... but it sound that great anyway. he played hair metal, old rock, and old disco... which would've been cool had it been beatmatched, and not obviously trainwrecked. he didn't look like he was making any effort whatsover the whole show. and to top it all of, he kept randomly pressing keys/buttons on his casio sampling keyboard. i think an SK-1, those little ones with 4 sample banks. at the end, he just took the record off and dropped it on the ground, and proceeded to pack his things up. if it was faulty turntables, i feel bad for him, but Manitoba used them just fine.
