hey all... i recently read that IRC spoof with RDJ, [ ]pusher, BoC, etc... (i know, i know... a bit much later than most) there's this whole bit about DaProdigy suggesting that RDJ get some dancers... had a good laugh and all, but then... i recalled seeing a dancer during Aphex Twin's set during NASA's See The Light Tour @ NYC '93... was it my imagination or did RDJ HAVE a dancer present for that tour ???? Yes, there was most definately some guy dancing in centre stage during the Aphex set on that tour, while RDJ himself crouched behind some gear at the back of the stage. Brilliant set as well. I'd heard some time ago he'd had a dancer with his live stuff. Got rid of her though. I think it distracted him. On that tour, aphex had a little box that he hung out in with a bunch of gear boxes that looked like fakes all about him. I think inside the box he had an R8 a sampler an a couple of analogues. The dancer had a TON of energy, and actually added some visual energy to otherwhise.. unvisual show. The music whas brilliant, of course! Now this is totally true. RDJ admitted it himself in a few interviews... Half the boxes did nothing. The time the Rephlex people played in Belfast they had two female dancers in leather gear peforming on stage together, and some looper who was dressed as a bannana who danced for ages even though he must have nearly died from the heat.
