I can recommend a few courses of action:
(1) Try some contact cleaner spray. They carry it at Radio Shack for about
$7, you don't have to open anything up. Just spray it into the fader, work
the fader about, and try it again. Contact spray is generally used for
faders and pots, so it might do the trick.
(2) call the manufacturer and ask for a replacement part. I did this with
my Tascam 4-track recorder and it worked like a charm. I had to pay a small
amount for a replacement board with the parts mounted on it.
(3) look at the part, find a manufacturer and part number, and look it up at
Digikey (
http://www.digikey.com).
That's all I can think of for now.
