I know these kind of questions get hammered to death, but I am looking for some insight from people who live in the Seattle area. I will be there from Dec 28 - Jan 3 and I am looking for help with the following (please reply privately): 1 - Record Stores. I will primarily be looking for IDM, electro, techno and drum n bass. Used record stores are a plus. 2 - Restaurants. Indian, Ethiopian, Vegetarian, Vietnamese, or anything else that is good. 3 - Events. Anything of interest going on in this time period for the 18 and over crowd? 4 - Places of interest. ??? Sorry for the OT and cross posting. 1. Check Jam Records in Wallingford, on 2210 N 45th street. Orpheum Records in Capitol Hill, 618 Broadway, lotsa cool stuff there. Wall of Sound on 2nd & Bell in Belltown... neat little shop. 2. Araya's Thai food in the U-District is great, especially if you're vegan, coz all the food is. They have a vegan lunch buffet, even. There's Kabul in Wallingford, it's Aghan food and it's amazing. India Bistro in Ballard is supposed to be good, 2301 NW Market St. And, you better go the Bamboo Garden-- all vegan (oh, except the fortune cookies!) mock Chinese menu; best food I've had in Seattle, 364 Roy St. in Queen Anne. 3. Dunno anything going on those days, but something cool is bound to be somewhere, especially on New Year's. 4. Everything! Alkhi Beach in West Seattle, Gasworks Park in Wallingford, walk all around the Fremont district (best neighborhood in Seattle!), Pike Place Market, yadda yadda. Just stay away from EMP. Be sure to drive a lot on I-90, 520, and I-5 during rush hour. Pure Seattle entertainment.
