Awww geez here's one that I'm sure alot people will find a great deal of humor in: I picked up this album at Aron's in LA yesterday, thinking it was new Aphex Twin. I get home and start looking at it, turns out it's a V/VM remix. I went back to Aron's to get my money back, and about six guys that work there swore that it was really Aphex Twin. Ok, so I take it home again. Then today a friend of mine says it's really these two other guys that remixed some Aphex Twin. Since I don't have a turntable, I can't listen to it to see if I even like it enough to keep it.(planning to get turntable with tax refund). It's V/VM - Help Aphex Twin/1.0, 2.0 we don't give a shit... ... because you don't give a fuck HAT03 So what's the _real_ story??? I'm sure if RDJ read this he'd laugh himself silly. What really amuses me about this is that you bought the record without knowing anything about it just because it said "Aphex Twin" on it. I'll bet you bought Nine Inch Nails "Further Down the Spiral" and Beck's "Devil's Haircut" too. It definitely V/Vm remixing Aphex, not RDJ himself. V/Vm specialise in remixing/ruining other peoples music in their own special way, you can hear some of their other tracks from: http://brainwashed.com/vvm/mp3previews.htm Glenn lysaabi wrote:

This is how to solve your problem: Pretend it has nothing to do with Aphex Twin. Listen to it. If you a) Like it - then keep it. If you b) Dislike it - take it back to the store. This is in general a good procedure regarding music. Sincerly Stefan lysaabi wrote:

the thing that makes me sick about this is the joke of v/vm "making a joke out of people buying records just 'cause its aphex twin" is too obvious to be funny, and thus its not a joke anymore whats sadder, this sod for buying it, or v/vm for making it?? does the music really matter any more?? im drunk, and being irish, tend to get nasty, your whines will be heard better in the morning brave new waves is lovely tonight

The original email almost seems like a joke. But then again i suppose if you've never heard of v/vm you might think it was v/vm by aphex twin... Although i'm not sure how you could be on this list and not have heard of v/vm. Strangeness. -----Original Message----- From: sp808 eating corn flakes <woolydogeater@hotmail.com> To: idm@hyperreal.org <idm@hyperreal.org> Date: Tuesday, December 18, 2001 2:44 AM Subject: Re: [idm] the truth about Help Aphex Twin????

And what would be the harm in that? Buying remixes by an artist you like? Also, from the original mail "I picked up this album at Aron's in LA yesterday, thinking it was new Aphex Twin." which is a fair mistake. The CDs have an even more grotesque version of James' face on them. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
