i'm using an SBLive! Platinum at the moment and among the other software nonsense that came with it was a program called Prody Parrot, which, in addition to doing speech recognition, can talk back to you. i haven't actually used it, but installation of said audio doo-dad also installs a program called Text Assist which will read from the clipboard from a number of presets with customization options such as breathiness, intonation, pitch min/max, speed, and head size among others. i've used it for a few things, but it would take a truly incredible amount of patience to be able to make it sing. most often, i just use it for small spoken vocal clips. bell labs has an online text to speech generator at www.bell-labs.com/project/tts/ kind of awkward to get recorded versions of what you make if you can't record directly from the soundcard, and has the tendency to glitch and pop depending on what voice you use. no real customization options other than the preset voices. :mz // anonbox · http://posthoc.org/ | http://ecesis.org/ 'if there were two of you, which one would win?'
