Hello people.. for once, there is a structure to this e-mail newsletter. Let's take you step-by-step through the new world of P2. --- firstly: ::: the RND_0.34873349921 compilation (cd only) has eventually hit the shops in the UK. Exports are filtering out at this very moment, for futher information on that you can e-mail us (info@pause2.com) especially if you are interested in ordering some at wholesale prices. Just to recap, this CD features many exclusive tracks from the likes of: metamatics, zan lyons, sybarite, eu, theboylucas, quinoline yellow, carthage, draven tanks, maps and diagrams, wauvenfold, novel23, andreas tilliander, com.a and mati:k. phew. the reaction to this release is GOOD.. One World (Radio 1) have officially recommended the comp, and played some excerpts on their show last week.. (check out http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/one_world/recommended_tunes.shtml for proof, and to hear the com.a track from the comp - be quick though as this page will probably only be around for 24 hours). you know there is only one record to buy your friends for christmas (and not just because it is cheap!).. ::: PAUSE002, that infamous 12" by GAUGE has also made its way into the shops. well, actually it is making its way all the time. for those who don't know, this is the info on gauge: "threatening to erupt into blistering cacophony, but really intent on following the far more austre path of restraint" (NME), Gauge recorded The Gatehouse in 1996 with Matt Elliot (Third Eye Foundation) behind the mixing desk, they take their influences (slint, codeine, rachels ... ) and twist them into a sound so sparse, yet totally unique. This 12" minialbum spans 40 minutes of the finest gauge including one Third Eye Foundation on remix duty. --- secondly: ::: both of these releases are available to purchase direct from P2hq. if you are UK based, 5 pounds is your price for both of these including delivery.. prices rise slightly for overseas peoples, but not a lot. payment can also be made easy via paypal (www.paypal.com) ! also, just a quick note to say that we have just received some more stock of Reframing, (003) - the CD minialbum by EU released earlier this year, for those of you who tried to order but we were out of stock.. they are now here! --- thirdly: ::: apologies for making this e-letter so UK centric.. however, THIS SUNDAY (16th December) at 03:05 (yes.. sunday morning.. ie the one which comes after SATURDAY night.. so in effect this is part of saturdays programming.. err.. ya dig?) - EU will be featured on the ITV (1) programme MIXMASTERS. a fantastic audio-visual series (this is programme 11) which has been going out for about 3 months, pioneering all kinds of experimental music and visuals from labels like ninja tune, rephlex, pork, hospital, sprawl working alongside some of the best VJs around. anyway, EU have put a 10-minute mix of their track 'wienn' (the first single for PAUSE_2 released back in 2000).. check it out, it's hot. they were lucky enough to be invited on the programme by ben mason from the visual / projection company RED DOG. he worked with them to produce the mighty visuals which will be shown alongside their audio mix, and has created a highly intricate, flowing piece which we think is fab. thank you ben.. i hope you'll all tune in or set your videos.. EU are up first on the show, followed by a mix for botchit & scarper. --- fourthly: ::: the new EP by EU ('tuner') is due for release (currently on 21 January 2002). this EP features 6 tracks and should make a fantastic 12" + CD release.. following on from the 7" they released on isonauta earlier this year, it shows a marked progression and change in EU sound. early reactions have been fantastic, OneWorld (Radio 1) listed it as No.1 in their recommended chart a few weeks back. we'll keep you informed, in the meantime check out what some of the press have said already: "this will have boards of canada quaking in their beats" - sleazenation "an excellent six-tracker of lush, gratifyingly skewed, bass-heavy electronica" - jockey slut and no doubt some more to come! --- fifthly: ::: we've got LOADS of fantastic new releases due for the beginning of 2002, the first of which (apart from the new EU EP) is a 7" by maps and diagrams. more info on him soon.. and more info on our new releases once we're nearer to pressing them. --- and also: ::: have a happy xmas time, please.. we hope you do. over the xmas period we'll be doing that web site revamp which has been promised for so long, you won't see all the changes, but online ordering and sounds and stuff will all be there soon. bye bye for now! over and out from tom @ P2hq -- from : (( tom @ PAUSE_2 Recs )) e(s) : (( tom@pause2.com )) phax : (( +44[0]8700940236 )) snails : (( PO BOX 1087.
