For some inexplicable reason (ex-pat Americans in London?), y'allternative does far too well in the Rough Trade shop(s). I can understand "Heartbreaker" actually... there's lots o' Gram Parsons in there and the songwriting is actually not too bad (save the cloying "Amy" for reasons I really don't want to get into). Unfortunately, all the charm of "Heartbreaker" was drained away by the wiles of his misguided management/a&r team or string of really clich?d relationships with famous groupie types (I mean, come on, how sad and predictable is hooking up with Winona Ryder?) which gave way to really clich?d songwriting and completely disinteresting arrangements. But that's just me, KCG __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Check out Yahoo! Shopping and Yahoo! Auctions for all of your unique holiday gifts! Hmmm - so the European popularity of Centro-Matic, Slobberbone, and Pleasant Grove is explained by this? :) Lift to Experience are something else entirely. :) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
