what's also interesting is that eventually it seems that it will come to light that certain musics (and more specifically certain melodic and rhythmic combinations and textures) resonate differently on a neurological level in males and females. researchers are now pinpointing exact areas of the brain that respond to specific stimuli. (my new secret idea that i shouldn't share): imagine a music video for your favorite song that is a continuous shot of someone listening to that songs Cat-scan-fead-type-thing. we would see an exact replica of what is basically going on in our own brains as we watch the song. maybe that would trigger some serious synesthesia seizures or something. *i certainly agree that the whole male/female/IDM thing is mainly socially influenced, i certainly believe as well that there are fundamental physical dispositions that lead you to one music type or another.

While it ain't animated the CD label art-work for the first three CD's on the Aural Industries label was a cat-scan slice through my face. The new Sense CD "Goodbye Mr Henderson" out in January, with new minimalistic but stunning artwork by idm list member Daniel Stonehouse.
