n5MD December news::::::::::::::::::
hello all,
lost of good things have been happening on the n5 front! We're going to be
hard at work over the christmas season to bring you several new releases in
the coming year. heres the dirt on whats been shakin'.
current news:::::
Proem's "Among Others" MD has been out for a month now and seems to be
fitting very nicely into peoples MD players. Proem is a contender for one of
2001's most prolific artists in the IDM genre. Proem follows up his Negativ
CD (m3rck) from ealier this year with a MiniDisc of all new (and some
previously lost) tracks of quality glitch ridden electronica. On "Among
Others" Proem gets a bit darker and eases up a bit on his signature
breakneck skittery beats to let the ambience flow. Proem will be playing a
show in Dallas Dec 8th at the Sand bar with Venetian Snares and Gridlock.
The VCAM 12" is done and is on it's way to the pressing plant. You might
remember vcam from both of our compilations MD1 and MD2. VACM has whipped up
a slice of modern experimental electronica that echos some of phonecia's
newer offerings or lexaunculpt's flair for audible detail...a very nice
release to break n5MD in to vinyl. Sound samples of all 4 of the tracks are
up on the n5 site so click on over and take em for a test drive.
ML have been hard at work on their first full-length entitled "everybody
looks like someone else". This release shows a new level of songwriting for
the northwestern trio. Delicate childlike melodies collide with chunky dsp
rhythms. Very emotional.

We've also been hard at work looking for new artists, and the fruits of our
labor have culminated in the form of St. Pettersburg artists Vesna. Vesna,
which translates to "spring" in english, will have a 7" out on the first day
of the very season that their name suggests. It's comprised of two tracks of
pure experimental dsp groove. Sound samples are now up at the n5 site for
your listening pleasure.
future news::::::
Tim Koch (de-focus, Surgery) is still compiling tracks for his Full-length
minidisc which should be due out around late spring early summer.
n5 has already received some of the tracks and it is totally what you can
expect from tim...crunchy 8 bit drums with delicate melodies...
n5 will also be putting out the debut full-length from Spark next fall on
CD. Spark is currently hard at work on various remixes for multiplex,
gridlock, and n5 artists ML.
Other news::::::::
next fall n5MD will be putting together MD8 the next in the MiniDisc
compilation series. so send in those demos.
