I heard this hip hop song this weekend that samples the song from that Muppet Show sketch where its that beardy guy and two aliens singing that "Mahna Mahna" song. Can anyone tell me what I was hearing? Mahna Mahna The song was written by Piero Umiliani and is from the 1969 Avco Embassy Film, "Sweden Heaven and Hell." Interesting. I wasn't aware that this was a Piero Umiliani original. I have that album of his that got reissued recently where its got a cartoon Umiliani in front of some big modular synthesizer. Its pretty awesome and has one of my favorite covers of Caravan ever. However, this still doesn't explain who sampled Mahna Mahna in some hip hop track. Oh well. -Aaron
