https://mickchillage.bandcamp.com/album/skua-atlantic-atlantic-fusion Laid-back fresh sounding ambient idm downtempo with some nods towards early Chicago and Detroit styles. Skua Atlantic is a collaboration between Mick Chillage and Árni Grétar The First track 'City Lights' is a tad long for my taste, but brings the machine funk electro. It starts out by fleshing out some of the instrumentation in little baby steps flirting with a lead solo, but never it comes. Kind of like the track is just stretching its legs and happy grooving along before a horn section (car horns will do just fine) arrives, a switch is thrown on the beats, and some ambient sections are introduced that take you into the next track 'Machine Blues'. It isn't until some 28 minutes in that Atlantic Fusion's full melodic intention shines in the excellent track 'Kexland'. Overall, a fine release. Reminds me a lot of Future Beat Alliance with it's funky beats and cold hard digital synths and filter sweeps.
