I'm going to lame out and reply to my own email to clarify/correct a few issues (lest the vicious trainspotters beat me to the punch =)... <<21 (or 22?) tracks>> 22. <<1978 to 1985 I think>> Upon consulting the tracklisting I recall there are a handful of newer tracks from I-F's contemporaries, like Electronome and a kickin' Alden Tyrell number (can Alden ever do wrong?). <<End Theme to the Blade Runner movie by Vangelis>> Apparently a remix by Hypnosis... Vangelis did the original score. <<I could procure>> Consider it procured:
quoted 22 lines 1. E.O.G. - SOLID LIQUID>>1. E.O.G. - SOLID LIQUID >>2. PATRICK COWLEY - PRIMITIVE WORLD >>3. PLUTON & HUMANOIDS - WORLD INVASION >>4. GIORGIO MORODER - THE CHASE >>5. MAN PARRISH - MANMADE >>6. JONZUN CREW - SPACE IS THE PLACE >>7. CHARLY - SPACERWOMAN >>8. Q - THE VOICE OF Q >>9. HYPNOSIS - BLADE RUNNER (END TITLE) >>10. MESSAGE FROM THE FUTURE - ROBOT IS SYSTEMATIC >>11. ALDEN TYRELL - LOVE EXPLOSION >>12. KRAFTWERK - TOUR DE FRANCE (remix??) >>13. CAMARO'S GANG - SUPER SHUFFLE >>14. ALEXANDER ROBOTNICK - PROBLEMES D'AMOUR >>15. MR. FLAGIO - TAKE A CHANCE >>16. KLEIN & MBO - DIRTY TALK >>17. B.W.H. - LIVING UP >>18. DOCTOR'S CAT - FEEL THE DRIVE >>19. SUN LA SHAN - CATCH >>20. ELECTRONOME - EEN DRUMCOMPUTER EN EEN SYNTHESIZER III >>21. ELECTRONOME - INFLUENCE >>22. A NUMBER OF NAMES - SHARIVARI
<<there's no Detroit techno on this>> Okay, that mysterious 22nd track I couldn't remember is definitely Detroit =)... It's ironic I neglected it because it's arguably the first Detroit techno track. And the listing doesn't indicate this but it's the less known "Vox" version, which is probably the b-side, although I can't say I've ever had the privilege of seeing the 12". So there's a little bit of "black" squeezed in there after all :p. <<they just ripped the drumlines straight out of Kraftwerk, plus all the effects like breathing to the beat>> As opposed to the more plosive beatboxing... (That's right, "plosive," motherfucker. Would you like to go?) <<limited to 500 copies>> Or 750, whatev. <<a bootleg release>> In the sense of "illegal," not in the sense of "live." atomly wrote: <<At Furthur he claimed that if it happens, it will be an MP3 on his website.>> MP3? Balls to that! (Ah, Furthur... I remember those halcyon days of midwestern yore...) <<www.hotmix.nl>> Maybe this is the same shit, but there's also an I-F "MIX-O-RAMA I" and I-F "MIX-O-RAMA II," and lots else (like a DJ Assault mix with the tantalizing description: "Ongehoord goede ghetto tech"), at this site: http://pages.vpro.nl/3voor12/dj_sets/dj_sets.shtml?2534202+2584688+2584508+0 Midwestern yore? --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
