So there's a lot of argiuing over what idm fans here should be listening to, how stupid. The great thing about this list is you don't have to like everything, i mean everything from early electronic experimentation to modern pop that just happens to use a synth or computer in its production get talked about here. Is there one sound that all musicians should be aiming at? no, of course not. We're allowed to like a new album because it sounds just like a song off an artificial intelligence comp. we're allowed to like the lastest algorithm driven headcase. were allowed to like a rock band that happened to use a heavily filtered drum-loop. We can long for the days when artists sounded like they did, and we can respect artist that move beyond what we can comprehend. Its the repetative bitching that kills this list, you know what i think anything you can say about confield/go plastic/drukqs not sounding like you wanted has already been said. There are hundreds of artists and albums brought up on this list every month, but still the conversation always turns to the big acts on warp. This isn't the warp list and everyone here knows were thay can get ahold of one of their albums to decide for themselves. I mean if you have to ask what a boards of canada album sounds like to decide if you want it, this is probably not the best place to find out. We're here for the most part to find out what's new and good and old classics we shouldn't have missed, not to find out what the fastest selling album in the genre should have sounded like. I hope that was semi-coherent and didn't offend anyone here too much, i have learned a lot about what's missed by the mass media here and would have never found most of the music i listen to without it. I'm just trying to say is that while discussion of the new autechre/aphex twin/squarepusher albums are warranted, there are hundreds of albums lost in the noise here that you don't have to like, but should at least be discussed. again sorry David _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

No need to apologise. If I see the word Drukqs in a heading now I tend not to bother reading it. I've long since formed my own opinions on that record and am far more interested in finding out about stuff i haven't heard of... --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
